I found copyright free and public domain images to use. I was lucky to find the chef images and most of the food images on UnSplash. I used AI to isoloate the chef images and Inverse to isolate the background making them easy to delete. I decided to use the background color of the pasta for the background for the animation. I knew I would be challenged to isolate the pasta cleanly, I like the orange and presumed an orange background...

Kaleidoscope

This project is to create a kaleidoscope based on a single image. I knew I want a luminous image and a human presence. My thought is it would be nice if the kaleidoscope had some glimmery. Of course the work of Gustav Klimt easily comes to mind. This image is a detail of Hygeia , painted by Gustav Klimt . It was a section of Klimt's massive painting titled Medicine , which was commissioned for the ceiling of the University of Vienna's Great Hall as part of the Faculty Paintings series...

Amy Sherald: American Sublime

I recently completed a projected that was presented in its final form as a slide show. The typeface is Luminari, but the swashy 'S' in is an alternate glyph, not the default character. In Adobe Illustrator, there is a feature that automatically uses alternate glyphs. Someone else using a different program or a simpler version of the font might not see the same character when they type 'S'. I knew I wanted a curvy design and a serif font, but none of the fonts I saw had enough swash to achieve the effect I...

Art is an Act of Courage

Art is an Act of Courage Coloring Book
